JOB SUMMARY:


The IT Systems Business Analyst will support the expansion of the Media Forensics Hub specializing in open-source investigation and the analysis of coordinated inauthentic information operations. The Analyst will use analytical output to build reports, identify network and security threats, and provide quality control specialization locating issues with analysis cycles. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


50% - Essential - Participates in analysis, assists with design, and conducts testing of computer and analytic systems.


30% - Essential - Conduct open-source investigations to identify, analyze, and document coordinated inauthentic behavior across digital platforms.


10% - Essential - Recommends improvements to existing services and processes. Prepares forms, diagrams, and other documentation to illustrate programs, processes, and procedures.


10% - Essential - Monitor and assess the impact of disinformation campaigns on public discourse, geopolitics, and targeted audiences.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


Education - High School or Equivalent


A bachelor's degree in a related area may substitute for the required work experience.


Experience - Computer system development and modification. Proficiency with OSINT tools and investigative techniques. Familiarity with tactics of disinformation campaigns.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Basic programming knowledge in Python or R. Experience with network analysis, metadata extraction, or geolocation tools.

Compensation Information


Expected Salary Range: $ 38,985.00 - $ 60,000.00


Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.


Essential Personnel Level


Normal Operations


Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
