Job Description
- Under broad supervision, uses a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.
- Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
- Owns assigned tasks. May serve as lead or train staff.
- The position requires extensive knowledge of web development and implementation of websites specifically with experience using Word Press and Drupal.
- The web developer will develop and implement websites, web applications, application databases, and interactive web interfaces.
- The web developer will evaluate code to ensure that it is properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with multiple browsers and devices.
- Other duties include optimization of website performance, scalability, and server-side code and processes.
- The website developer may also develop website infrastructure and integrate websites with other in-house or vendor applications.
- The development will include an appropriate mix of web design's graphical, functional, and aesthetic components to guarantee maximum efficiency across all devices.
- The developer will be responsible for creating responsive site designs that enhance the user experience.
- Function as the IT subject matter expert for website creation and design
- Provide an IT development and user support role for website development
- Ensure quality development and operation of assigned tasks
- Ensuring responsive design that adapts seamlessly to various screen sizes
- Testing the website before deployment and debugging the website code
- Maintaining the website and supporting the organization/client on website updates
- Collaborating with designers to understand and execute their vision
- Connecting the database and maintaining integrations
- Analyzes customers' information needs, business problems and business opportunities and assist in determining the most efficient and effective systems/programming solutions
- Builds, designs, and maintains assigned websites and software applications.
- Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
- Communicates with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders daily.
- Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
- Plans and delivers software platforms and products across multiple organizational units.
- Evaluates written code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with all devices using Standard and Mobile device design.
- Maintains a professional understanding of web development by tracking trends and participating in study groups.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of ADA web accessibility compliance and WCAG 2.1 standards required (3 years)
- Extensive knowledge of Google Analytics usage and website reporting a plus
- Knowledge of API hooks with other platforms (ex. Workday, social media platforms, etc.)
- Knowledge of ESRI or mapping software a plus
- Experience with Adobe creative cloud products a plus
- Understands UI and UX, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
- Designed assignments with web services like REST, SOAP, etc.
- Has executed assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as WordPress, Drupal, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
